Bishops Flower

( Ammi majus )

A lovely elegant lacy flower of crisp white born atop tall (1.5m) stems in late Spring and into Summer. Celery like foliage forms a base clump of ferny foliage to 50cm tall, establishing through Winter frosts from open germinated seedlings or seed.

Flowers hold well, and with long stems make an excellent cut flower, a superior flower to Queen Anne's lace due to its open flowering and clear white flowers. Seed heads add interest to late Summer and Autumn floral arrangements.

A full sun location with good drainage on fertile or unimproved soil will suite this plant.

Grows well with tall flowering Mallow, Ivory Pincushion and German Chamomile for similar flowering time and mass display.

Water lightly when needed in Spring & Summer as this plant prefers drier soil.
